Gift Hampers Delivered to Goulburn

The 2580 list is longer than you would think

Between Sydney and Canberra on the Southern Tablelands, Goulburn draws gift lists from both capitals: about 195 kilometres south-west of one and 90 kilometres north-east of the other. Postcode 2580 reaches well past the streets of Goulburn and Goulburn North, taking in Run-O-Waters, Brisbane Grove, Boxers Creek, Bungonia, Towrang, Tarlo and Kingsdale among some fifty rural localities, so write the locality and not the number alone.

All of it falls under Goulburn Mulwaree Council, which also governs Marulan, 27 kilometres east-north-east, although Marulan sits on 2579. The larger workplaces are the New South Wales Police Academy, which moved here from Sydney in 1984, along with Goulburn Correctional Centre, Goulburn Base Hospital and the TAFE campus on Verner Street.

Gifts that land at an institution, not a front door

Those four employers shape most of what arrives here. Recruits come to the Police Academy from across the state, the correctional centre and the base hospital are both round-the-clock workplaces, and TAFE runs to semesters at the corner of Verner and View Streets. Away from town the rest of 2580 is farmland.
