Buy one bon bon per seat plus two spares, 60 g of cheese a head after lunch or 120 g when the board is the meal, one 100 g packet of crackers per four people, and five or six nibbles each before you sit down. What is not on this list
The centrepiece. The Gourmet Pantry does not sell ham, pudding, fruit cake or a fresh roast, so this tool covers what goes around one. For those numbers, allow about 250 g of ham on the bone per adult, halved to 125 g when it shares the table with prawns and salads, and 200 g of unpeeled prawns per adult, both from our per-person guide. Buy the fresh half in the last four days and the cupboard half in October.
Where the numbers come from
- One cracker per seat, plus two. Trays hold six or twelve, and a table covered exactly never survives the day. One will pull badly, and someone brings a partner.
- 60 g of cheese a head, 120 g when the board is the meal. Three cheeses is a board, four is a Christmas board, five is the ceiling. Buy by weight, not by wedge.
- One 100 g cracker packet per four people, across two or three styles.
- Five or six nibbles each, being two or three pieces for every half hour of standing around.
- A child under ten counts as half, except for bon bons, where they are a whole seat.

Your hamper is packed and on its way the same day for weekday orders that reach us before midday, and the next business day for anything later. Every hamper ships tracked with Australia Post, and you can check current estimates on our delivery page.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is free Australia-wide on orders over $100. Under $100 the exact cost is calculated at checkout from the delivery postcode.
Can I include a gift message?
Yes, and it is free. Every hamper carries a personalised gift message or greeting card, slipped neatly under the bow. Add your message at checkout.
How are the hampers packed?
Every hamper is hand packed in Geelong by our team, never a machine, then finished with a ribbon so it arrives gift-ready. It travels in an insulated shipper box, snugly packed so nothing shifts on the way.
